The Opportunity

Our client designs and manufactures mission-critical power distribution equipment for data centers and other high-demand facilities. Demand has outpaced the engineering organization’s current capacity, and leadership is looking for a Vice President of Engineering who can build the structure, the talent, and the discipline needed to keep pace with a growing backlog while raising the bar on product performance.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who has spent real time in switchgear manufacturing, and who understands what it takes to engineer equipment that has to work every time, with no margin for error.

What You Will Own

Set engineering strategy and direction for the company’s power distribution equipment line, switchgear, and e house solutions

Build, mentor, and scale an engineering team capable of supporting current volume and future growth

Partner with operations, sales, and project management to align engineering output with a growing order backlog

Improve engineering processes, standards, and documentation to support consistent, repeatable quality on engineered-to-order equipment

Serve as the technical authority on switchgear design for both internal teams and key customers

Evaluate and upgrade engineering tools, workflows, and talent structure as the company scales

What You Bring

Strong, hands-on experience with switchgear design, manufacturing, or application engineering

Direct experience with e house structures and integrated electrical systems

A track record of leading and growing engineering teams in an electrical equipment manufacturing environment

Comfort operating in an engineered-to-order environment with real backlog pressure

The ability to balance big picture strategy with the willingness to get into the technical detail when it matters

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
