Applications Sales Engineer – Do you have knowledge of transmission and distribution? Have you worked with the utilities in the past? If so let’s talk! The goal of this role is to integrate best practices to better serve internal and external customers. The candidate will be responsible for the review of specifications, analyzing costs, pricing analysis, submitting quotes and fulfilling customer service requests. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter starter with the ability to be a team player. Excellent interpersonal skills are required as you will be the first face of many of our clients. Critical thinkings skills are a must as the position will require quick decision making for the least risky outcome.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
 Review customer submitted specifications and offer/develop cost-effective product solutions.
 Design of products based on requirements
 Interpret competitor designs and offer alternatives
 Develop cost estimates from similar existing designs
 Price product to maximize profit margins within established departmental guidelines
 Analyze market conditions and craft proposals in order to maximize Company’s chance of successful order placement
 Submit quotations in timely and professional manner
 Interface with reps and end users; track shipments; resolve delivery issues
 Handle customer complaints and the Customer Problem report process; work with production control to meet customer requirements
 Coordinate all business transactions with the customer from quotation to delivery.
 Work with customer service director, customer service supervisor, sales, marketing and customers during commercialization of new product launches
 Work closely with production and distribution teams giving direction and prioritization to meet customer’s requirements
 Develop in-depth knowledge of identified customer accounts; know needs and concerns intimately

 REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
 Able to read and interpret drawings
 Computer literate with strong spreadsheet and analytical skills
 Detail-oriented with multi-tasking abilities and strong organizational skills
 Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference in addition to mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide in various units of measure)

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, OR EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
 BA/BS degree from accredited college/university; technical degree preferred
 Customer Service background; manufacturing or technical sales
 Proficient in Microsoft Office
 CAD experience a plus

Duties:
Privately held transformer manufacturer is seeking a Transformer Electrical Design Engineer for electrical design of dry type transformers according to customer specifications. In addition, perform various engineering tasks involving such functions as analysis, design, while working from instructions, drawings, proposals, specifications, and other pertinent information.

Typical duties/responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:

– Prepare reports and related documents in accordance with requirements, established formats and general instructions. Review and analyze a variety of engineering data, documents and reports.

– Prepare design models for the new project using available design tools and programming working with sales, project management, and customer.

– Perform Finite-Element Magnetics and Electrical analysis.

– Plan, conduct or coordinate relatively straight-forward engineering analyses and tests, and prepare related reports and summaries, for review.

– Participate in the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences.

– Inspect and collect necessary design data for any engineering assessment project.

– Perform internal and external assessment for each project at customer site, as required.
– Additional duties may be assigned as required.
Basic Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5 of design experience; OR
Master’s degree in engineering and 2 years of design experience
Preferred Qualifications:

Transformer design experience
Thorough knowledge of FEA (finite element analysis) on electrical and magnetic field stresses
of components of the transformer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Ø      Develop and design prints and mechanical documentation for manufacturing and assembly of customized transformers in reference to electrical design and customer specification.

Ø      Consult the assembly plan in compliance to customer specifications and electro-mechanical documentation.

Ø      If needed, work directly with customers to understand equipment/system requirements and to ensure an optimized solution for the clients’ application(s).

Ø      Address shop floor and field quality issues and take necessary design measures through ECN to enhance product quality and/or reduce manufacturing and material cost.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      Mechanically design of power transformers electro-magnetic products to meet customer specifications at requested delivery dates.

2.      Using electrical design sheets, develop the mechanical design of coil/core assembly, clamping hardware, enclosure and/or additional assembly outline for the entire system.

3.      Specify and document special assembly instructions and/or hardware.

4.      Develop mechanical documents for enclosures and other mechanical parts to be outsourced and work with the third party toward the fulfillment of required specifications.

5.      Work with Engineering, customers and Manufacturing teams towards achieving quality goals and design validation.

6.      Design and develop manufacturable products that are cost competitive and in adherence to the material standards.

7.      Define and document bills of materials and process routing steps.

8.      Work with quality and manufacturing teams to resolve field or shop floor issues and questions.

SKILLS:

Ø      Proficiency in use of ProE, AutoCAD, MRP tools, Microsoft Word and Excel.

Ø      Experienced in developing routing documents and Bill of Material in a manufacturing environment.

Ø      Resource planning to accomplish the completion of documentation for a given project at a scheduled time-frame.

Ø      Ability to efficiently work within mechanical team and interface well with other departments and remain well organized and disciplined.

Company is seeking a Power Engineer is responsible for performing engineering activities in the field.

Power Engineer Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop the skills to provide technical capabilities for testing relays, circuit breakers, transformers, motor control equipment, and related switchgear in the field, including synch check, point-to-point.
  • Should be familiar with AutoCAD.
  • Collect field data and perform arc flash studies, coordination studies and
    short circuit analysis (load flow analysis, grounding & lightning
    protection studies, infrared scans, etc.)
  • Develop the skills to provide technical insight with regard to substation
    systems and electrical power systems
  • Liaison between Project Manager and Engineering
  • Make recommendations for reduction of project budget

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Prefer any related experience in power
  • BSEE, prefer study emphasis in power, EIT a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language.
