Privately held company in New England has an exciting opportunity available for a Sales Engineer. This position will be critical to the continued growth and success of our client.

What will you do?

The Sales Engineer will service customers by identifying their needs; engineering adaptations of products, equipment, and services. As a sales engineer, you’ll combine technical knowledge with sales skills.  You will gain technical knowledge and understanding you’ll need to sell the product you’re offering and to respond to clients’ enquiries.

What does that mean?

Daily Activity:

  • Persuading clients that a product or service will best satisfy their needs
  • Calculating client quotations
  • Negotiating tender and contract terms
  • Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions
  • Offering after-sales support services
  • Administering client accounts
  • Analysing costs and sales
  • Preparing reports for head office
  • Meeting regular sales targets
  • Recording and maintaining client contact data
  • Co-ordinating sales projects
  • Supporting marketing by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events
  • Making technical presentations and demonstrating how a product will meet client needs
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Liaising with other members of the sales team and other technical experts

Business Development Manager Houston [JOB POSTING]

Who we are: We are a large international manufacturer of specialty electrical equipment. We manufacture custom engineered solutions for the global market of power generation. The Business Development Manager-Electrical Sales position will be for metal enclosures.  This is a critical position in our organization. This position will ensure that the company is profitable and is represented to electrical contractors and original equipment manufacturers.  The Business Development Manager-Electrical Sales will be the voice of the customer with design, manufacturing and the project managers.

Summary of job:

  • Independently create a successful sales strategy based on market data and present the plan to the business for acceptance.
  • Identify and stratify various markets and prioritize efforts to maximize sales yield and increase market share.
  • Build awareness of  brand, product line, value proposition and capabilities across the region through in-person field selling activities with prospects and accounts.
  • Develop and implement a structured and systematic sales contact and calling program in region, including gathering sales prospect data and information, identifying and contacting potential prospects, and setting up sales call appointments.
  • Lead and maintain intra-departmental communications to bring the team’s collaborative value solution to the client.
  • Meet assigned quarterly and annual sales targets with both existing customers and new prospects.
  • Conduct formal technical presentations before large customer audiences

What you need:

  • Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Knowledge of electrical power distribution.
  • 5 plus years of selling engineered solutions in the critical systems, medium voltage switchgear, low voltage switchgear, motor control centers.
  • Contract negotiating experience
  • Ability to travel 50% domestically
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Work remote preferable in the Midwest or Mid Atlantic region.

Mechanical Engineering Manager-Midwest 70-95K [JOB POSTING]

SUMMARY

We manufacture a complete line of custom enclosures, UL tanks, control panels, switchgear.  These are just a few of the products that are engineered to order.  We service the utilities and oil and gas industry.  Due to growth we are now hiring a Mechanical Engineering Manager will lead the Mechanical Engineering team and will partner closely with operations and sales to deliver world-class project management and engineering processes that will enable the company to realize its growth goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Lead and develop the Mechanical Engineering Department.
  • Department needs to provide production with complete BOM’s and routes while ensuring manufacturability.
  • Establish department strategic objectives / key performance indicators (KPI) aligned with departmental and corporate strategic objectives.
  • Establish methods to measure performance against department strategic objectives / KPI’s and report results.
  • Implement corrective and preventative actions as required based on performance against strategic objectives / KPI’s.

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demostrated  Management skills and abilities but not limited to team building, leadership, coaching/training, goal setting, conflict management, performance management.
  • Basic knowledge of power distribution equipment.
