Applications Sales Engineer 65-75K-Filled

Applications Sales Engineer – Do you have knowledge of transmission and distribution? Have you worked with the utilities in the past? If so let’s talk! The goal of this role is to integrate best practices to better serve internal and external customers. The candidate will be responsible for the review of specifications, analyzing costs, pricing analysis, submitting quotes and fulfilling customer service requests. The ideal candidate must be a self-starter starter with the ability to be a team player. Excellent interpersonal skills are required as you will be the first face of many of our clients. Critical thinkings skills are a must as the position will require quick decision making for the least risky outcome.

 Review customer submitted specifications and offer/develop cost-effective product solutions.
 Design of products based on requirements
 Interpret competitor designs and offer alternatives
 Develop cost estimates from similar existing designs
 Price product to maximize profit margins within established departmental guidelines
 Analyze market conditions and craft proposals in order to maximize Company’s chance of successful order placement
 Submit quotations in timely and professional manner
 Interface with reps and end users; track shipments; resolve delivery issues
 Handle customer complaints and the Customer Problem report process; work with production control to meet customer requirements
 Coordinate all business transactions with the customer from quotation to delivery.
 Work with customer service director, customer service supervisor, sales, marketing and customers during commercialization of new product launches
 Work closely with production and distribution teams giving direction and prioritization to meet customer’s requirements
 Develop in-depth knowledge of identified customer accounts; know needs and concerns intimately

 Able to read and interpret drawings
 Computer literate with strong spreadsheet and analytical skills
 Detail-oriented with multi-tasking abilities and strong organizational skills
 Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference in addition to mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide in various units of measure)

 BA/BS degree from accredited college/university; technical degree preferred
 Customer Service background; manufacturing or technical sales
 Proficient in Microsoft Office
 CAD experience a plus
